Chef's Note

Dad was never the loud kind of hero. He was the one who quietly fixed whatever was broken, the motivation on days that were hard & somehow always turned up before we’d even thought to ask. When I dreamt up this cake, I wanted those same contradictions on a plate — nutty & a little rugged on the outside, soft & warm the moment you reach the middle. This one is for him & for every Dad who is somebody's whole world without ever asking to be.
